Is this a good persuasion topic?

So I have to give a 7-10 minute persuasion topic to my class. I want to do something a little bit different. My idea is something like "With all the distractions in life, it is important to have and keep friends". I chose this topic because I read an article saying that having no friends is almost worse then smoking and actually lessens your life expectancy. 
 I know it sounds almost like an informative speech but I think if I word it right, I can make it into a persuasion speech in talking about the importance and how you should make and keep freindships rather then just go by life waiting for people to come to you.

what are you persuading anyone to do? not to shoot you down but i think your professor/teacher is looking for something along the lines of… "why school should start at 10 instead of 8" you know, like convincing someone to do something. I'm not suggesting you use the 10 instead of 8 thing, it was just an example

It doesn't seem very persuasive to me to pick a topic that virtually everyone would agree with in the first place.

Is this a good persuasion topic?
