Why have I stopped losing weight?

Just in the past couple of months I have been eating healthy and exercising regularly. I've cut my calories down to 1200 a day, and I run 6km every two days and do half an hour of weights in between. I started off at 61kg, and now I'm around the 56kg mark. My goal was to reach 55 or 54, but I can't seem to get past 56.

I eat exactly the same, I never go over, and I still do regular exercise.

I don't want to decrease my calories anymore, otherwise it will be unhealthy.

When dieting, you eventually reach a point where your weight stabilises for a while. It's called a plateau, I think. You're probably still losing weight appearance-wise but your weight remains stable for a short while. You'll eventually start losing more weight again scale-wise.

I think that's the case with you.

The fatter you are, the easier it is to lose weight. the skinnier you are the harder it is to lose weight because when you're fatter its easier to lose the water weight.
