What s up with my car?
This morning I drove my car down to the street, and there was this clicking/tapping noise coming from the front of my car (possibly the engine), and it would get faster as I accelerated. When I drove the car to work last night, it was perfectly fine, so it seemingly happened overnight, which I am suspicious of. After I drove it this morning, I went back to the car half an hour later, and there was this burning smell inside of the car. Now I am going to tow it to the mechanics, because I m really worried about harming it more, but what is wrong with my car?
If it helps, I have a 2008 blue nissan micra. This is the first thing that has "gone wrong" with it over the last 7 years. It s such a hardy car, so it is a little strange :/

If you smelled something burning and it smelled like engine oil burning, then I am thinking your clicking or tapping noise you heard was probably more like a knocking noise, like a hammer hitting some metal. If this is the case, then you are dangerously close to throwing a rod, and blowing the motor. Check the oil level. It could need oil. Sometimes you can get lucky if you catch it in time and the only thing that was clicking is the lifters.

That's what I was thinking when they said that it was tapping then went away was lifters or just a little valve tap. But if you smelled something burning that's not good. Defiantly check your oil and/or see a mechanic.
