florida dmv license plate do you have to pay $200 every time you get your plate back from the dmv after returning it?
I retuened my tag in Palatka florida in 2012 and am about to get another car. I paid almost $200 it was my first time having a plate .now tho I am wondering if I will have to pay that again to tag this next car , am I going to get another $200 to get my tag back for this car in Jacksonville fl. (I bought the last car and tag in jacksoville fl I just returned the tag in Palatka fl ) my question is will I have to pay $200 for another tag that I had paid $200 for a couple years befor?

You will pay higher fees when you register your car than when you renew your registration, including an initial registration fee and an issuing fee.
Initial registration: $225.
License plate issuing fee: $28.
License plate transfer fee: $7.35.
Vehicle taxes (payable when you register AND renew tags): Cars: Up to 2499 lbs.: $27.60.
2500 to 3499 lbs.: $35.60.
3500 lbs. and above: $45.60.
Trucks: 1999 lbs.: $27.60.
2000 to 3000 lbs.: $35.60.
3001 to 5000 lbs.: $45.60.
Motorcycles and other vehicles: See the FL registration fee and tax chart.
Service fees: Varies by location.
Replacements: Damaged or defaced license plate: $28. Free if you’ve been ticketed by law enforcement.
Lost license plate: $28. Free if your tags were lost in the mail and you apply for replacements within the last 180 days of the issue date.
Stolen plate replacement: Free.
