i think you should just text her saying "hey whats up" or hey how have you been. since you are a upper class men I'm pretty sure she will ext you back.

just say 'hey whats up' or something like that. start up a conversation. ask her a bunch of questions and just get to know each other.

You can always ask her how she is liking and place or how her grades are and something along the lines of that.
