Making roux with self-rising flour?

I need to make roux for my bechamel sauce, and all i have in the house is self-rising flour. What's going to happen? No time for a trip to the G-store.

Reduce the salt a bit in the rest of the recipe.

You can make gravy with self-rising flour. Just brown the flour with salt and pepper in an iron skillet in some bacon drippings (what is left over from the bacon). Don't burn it...just get it a little brown while stirring with a fork, remove from heat, add part milk and a little cold water and stir until it thickens. Delicious, of course. Australians would not understand.

    It it's only 1 -2 tbsp, you shouldn't notice a difference.

It will work just the same as AP flour, you will see very little, if any, difference
