I am a programmer but find straight algebra difficult?

The just of my situation is, I can program pretty much anything with Java or C++ or C, or Python, but when I just have to do algebra, problems way simpler than what I use in my code blocks, I have trouble, and get it wrong. I have my final university exams soon, and I need to learn it.

    Perhaps you aren't as good of a programmer as you think. Algebra is just like programming. You have a certain set of rules and syntax. Learn the rules and you can do any problem...
