I notice the only way an answer gets awarded the 10 points for best answer is if the asker chooses it.
So why don't more people who ask questions choose a best answer?

Not only do people rarely give you a vote for best answer they don't even seem to read the answers even though you put time into helping them with a knowledgeable answer.
