I have a desktop computer but am considering buying a laptop or notebook/tablet so that I can do some research away from my desk.?

I will use it mainly for researching stocks. l have found a laptop that I like but have been told that with a notebook I will be able to use 'apps' which will give me a wider range of research tools. I normally use Google Finance, TDWaterhouse and similar sites. Will the 'apps' available for notebooks be better/different from the websites that I can access on my desktop?

A notebook is just another name for a laptop. You mean to say that a tablet can have apps that allow you to perform different things.

In my opinion, stick to the usual sites you visit. Apps aren't really that comprehensive, and are more just generalized data.

If you need a device to look into things on-the-go, a tablet is best, as they are inexpensive, and lightweight. You should consider a Windows 8 Pro tablet, as those tablets are basically an entire computer system shrunken into one small screen. They can have optional keyboards and mice attached on, which allow you to use them like a normal computer, if you need to trade.
