What road courses, short tracks or anything else would you add to the NASCAR Cup schedule?
I'm curious what other people would do as far as adding/subtracting tracks from the schedule, and my own thoughts will be in the last paragraph (in case you don't want my opinions to mess with yours).
As it stands now in 2014, NASCAR's Cup series has five 1 1/2 mile tracks in the Chase alone, and the entire season is, in my opinion, over-saturated with the mile-and-a-halfers. I definitely think that Iowa Speedway, a 7/8 mile track semi-based on Richmond, should be added immediately to rectify the relative lack of short tracks, but I also think two road courses should be added as well, with one in the final ten races. That being said, with Sonoma covering the west coast and Watkins Glen the northeast, I would add Canadian Tire Motorsports Park (formerly Mosport) and Road Atlanta as soon as possible. There are a good number of Canadians who enjoy NASCAR, and adding a date near Toronto would tap into a new market. Given that the Nationwide race in French-speaking Montreal always drew a crowd, a race in untapped Toronto could be huge. As for Road Atlanta, with the oval down to one race a season (criminal in itself), the market could support a second race, particularly if the track is different from the speedway and the other road courses are far away. I'd take a date from Pocono for sure (two races in six or seven weeks is too much) and one from Kansas too. What are your thoughts? Bring back dates to Darlington and Rockingham too?

Rockingham would be the first I would bring back
as for the road courses
Road America
Mid Ohio
would be added to rotate with the other 2 road courses
I would have 3 road races a year with one in the chase

Rockingham.
Pikes Peak (I think they shut it down.)
Iowa would be good for Sprint Cup.
Milwaukee.
Road Atlanta.
I really like Circuit of the Americas.
Mid Ohio.
I would also like to see NASCAR at Barber in Alabama.
I go for the Indy race every year and it's great.

I agree with rockingham. I have no idea why they took it off the schedule, but bring it back, I like road America, maybe the Milwaukee mile. But take away some of the mile and a half tracks, and squeeze in a couple of short tracks, like Iowa. I like the season the way it is, but at least bring back rockingham.

II would have one date each year for a road course, but a different track each season. Say Mid-Ohio 2015, Road Atlanta 2016, Sebring 2017, etc. I hate to say it, but I think F1 has a good idea where the flip flop race events between two tracks from one year to the next.

I like the idea of Road Atlanta. If they do that, they should get rid of the August Pocono race. I think Auto Club should get their second race back, and replace it with the Charlotte October race. Get rid of the second Texas race, and give it to Darlington. Back in 2005, that they got rid of Darlington and gave it to Texas. I don't get that at all...

Nashville Superspeedway, Road America, or even nashville fairgrounds speedway. Many legends are fighting to keep it up. They just need to boost capacity (only 15,000) (I'm biased)
