A sticky roast duck I made that had a savory blackberry sauce, paired with caramelized onions and rosemary pan fried potatoes. Seriously, it was amazing.

I can remember a long time ago when my family stopped at a little roadside diner for dinner. We had been driving for what seemed like for ever and we were all extremely hungry. I played it safe and had a burger with fries (what I always get when I am eating in a place I have never been before) and I am not sure if it was because they served really good food, or because I was extremely hungry, but that was the absolute BEST burger I have ever eaten in my life. I have never eaten one that has topped it to this day.

Salted Cod boiled then salt pork is fried and some of the fat poured onto the fish. Really it's good, my grandfather used to make this. It's a Newfie dish.

Crapes and French onion soup from MiMi's Cafe and their muffins too. PalDean doesn't have anything close to that.

Bacon wrapped steaks.
Well it was steaks from Walmart but in the freezer we had some pepper bacon ends so not much steak seasoning was needed. Then I had pasta noodles (beef broth) and brocolli.
It seems pretty standard but it was so good!

Best beef: steak marinated in teriyaki sauce for 3 days in the frig then baked in the sauce in a covered dish, and a filet mignon baked then slow fried to med-well.
Venison tenderloin my Mom fried in bacon drippings, cast iron, dusted with salt, pepper, and flour.
Chicken Parmesan, pounded flat to tenderize, in an excellent marinara basil sauce with real parmesan and provolone and fresh basil.
Breakfast burrito with scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese, fresh pico, jalapenos, hot red & verde sauces.
Breakfast sausage gravy on homemade bisquits with hashbrowns and over-medium fried eggs.
Denver omelet: fresh tomatoes, red bell peppers, sweet white onions, hot sauce, cheddar cheese, cream cheese with hashbrowns.
Many Thai and Indian dishes. Love curry. Pad Thai, Cashew Chicken, Marsala beef & potatoes. Love a Thai sweet tea with a couple 3-star dishes.
Raw garlic, home-grown tomatoes, toasted homemade bread, banana peppers, cheeses, humus, olives with a good wine.
Garcia's Mexican food, fresh pico, rice & beans, enchiladas, grilled Tilapia on a bed of grilled veggies.
Golden Chopsticks: General Tso's chicken, rainbow chicken, Mongolian beef, fried rice, almond chicken, so crispy and tender, sauced just right.
Lobster, the best I remember was at Ivar's. A lobster corn side. Fried Oysters at a Japanese place on Post Alley, their bento box.
Many BBQ dishes. BBQ chicken is one of my faves with baked beans, potato salad, and sweet white corn on the cobb. Pecos Pit Hot beef brisket sandwich with corn chips and a hot link.
Watermelon. Peach cobbler, chocolate sour-cream cake with a creamy milk chocolate sauce, peach pie, strawberry short cake, blueberry muffins and pancakes with chokecherry syrup with side of fried link sausages, buckwheat pancakes topped with pure maple syrup and a fried egg or peanut butter. Sunflower butter and blueberry preserves from Trader Joes on a wholegrain bread.
French bread with a garlic butter, olive oil, parmesan, cheddar, provolone, broiled on one side.
Pastrami sandwich from Pike's place, or made myself. Provolone melted onto the meat, homemade thousand island with a Tobasco kick, caramelized onions, thick deli smoked bacon fried extra crispy, patted dry sauerkraut, dark deli rye toasted bread.
A fresh, perfectly ripe orange.
Banana split from Dairy Queen with just the right ripe banana and their soft icecream. DQ cherry-dipped cone.
Virgin pina colada with ripe, juice pineapple side.
A pan-fried-baked-marinated Porter House steak done by my eldest son.
Chicago pan combo pizza, or New York thin with bacon & peperoni, black olives.
Homemade peach ice cream, fresh, amazingly sweet peaches from Redding, CA.
Mom's chicken & dumplings, homemade bread, fried bread with melted butter and honey, sweety pies, and Swedish pasties.
Most unusual: alligator, batered and deep fried, tasted like pork. Ostrich, tasted like beef tenderloin.
Bon appetite.

I had some grilled rockfish once that was so delicious I had to hold myself back from licking the plate in the restaurant.
I ordered some mushroom risotto a couple of years ago that was also very fine, but not quite as good as the rockfish.
