In science you have the scientists and their respective organisations conducting research and publishing the results. The media and other interested parties then take this information and sometimes distort it to their advantage. That’s why, when it comes to subjects such as climate change, people need to be wary of second-hand sources of information.

The American Journal of Agricultural Economics (AJAE) said what most people already now, namely that SOME environmental organisations and the media SOMETIMES exaggerate the effects of climate change.

At no point does the AJAE article claim that the original information is suspect, it doesn’t dispute that climate change is happening, and it doesn’t accuse the scientists of exaggeration.

What the AJAE article actually says and what sceptics think it says are two entirely different things – how often has that been the case.

The article is quite correct to state that third party sources sometimes exaggerate. But then you could just as easily substitute “climate change” with “belief in aliens”, “rehabilitation of offenders”, “artificial flavourings” or just about any subject you could care to name.

Just because most alarmists avoid answering the question doesn't mean the question itself has no value. I'm simply asking if it's okay to lie about Climate Change. It's actually a pretty straightforward question which would seem to just require a straightforward answer.

It is fun to watch alarmists tap dance around it though :-)

"ian Lies about climate change are the expertise of the pro denier industry, which all of the deniers here have been duped by"

Actually the peer reviewed paper I referenced claims that the lies and exaggeration about climate change are from alarmists such as yourself.

The article says that people are better off for lying about global warming.
