How do I build a website with registration page?
Free or not (even though I prefer free, who doesn't) I was wondering if anyone knew how to make a website with a registration page for users. Thank so much for any responses.

For this type of functionality you will need a website with a database. I would suggest you use a CMS (Content Management System )..the two most popular ones are Wordpress and Joomla.
Both have extensions or plug -ins that make adding this type of functionality fairly easy to set up. Now...it depends on what the registration is for. If it's to only allow users to access certain parts of the site, or to create a mailing list then the two CMS's are pretty well equal. If you are allowing users to post content, pictures etc. then I would recommend Wordpress as the free plug-ins there (as well as the platform itself) will give you more control over this than Joomla. By this I mean in my experience WP user access and permission is easier to configure than it is in Joomla...someone else might disagree; if you allow users that you don't know personally to post content (spam)without reasonable controls your site will ending up looking like...well ,,,this one lol...
PS..Wordpress.com and Wordpress(.org) are NOT the same thing. WP.com is a hosting platform-if you use the free version of WP.com your site will look like mysite.wordpress.com unless you buy a custom domain. If you already have a web host and a domain you can download Wordpress from Wordpress.org. Most web hosts now have a 1 button click install of WP through Cpanel.(no need to download and upload).Just make sure the web host has PHP v 5.4 servers to properly support newer WP (or Joomla) installs.

you can learn to make it manually which requires you to know a language like php
or you can use some site builder. cms require a learning lost of learning too and i don't like
them. you can also hire a freelance web designer. if you want to do it all yourself you'd need
to know
1 html and css
2 php
