1) True or False: The SEsum (Standard of Error) is how big the chance error is likely to be in computing the expected value of the SUM. Explain.

2) A baseball team plays 162 games in a season and has a 50-50 chance of winning any game. What is the probability the team will win more than 100 games in a season?

    1/ False, SE is the range either side of the expected value in which the proportion of similar samples (equal to the confidence level) would also contain the expected value.

    2/ Z = ((100/162)-.5)/sqrt(.5*.5/162) = 2.9856

    From a Z-score table p = .0014
