Can't Christians accept that Jesus wasn't white?

He was born in the Middle-East and described to have skin like Bronze, he was most likely a dark brown.

Jesus was a Jew, He looked like whatever Jews looked like 2000 plus years ago.

The Bible never gives any physical description of Christ. The closest thing we get to a description is in Isaiah 53:2b, “He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to Him, nothing in His appearance that we should desire Him.” All this tells us is that Jesus’ appearance was just like any other man's – He was ordinary-looking. Isaiah was here prophesying that the coming suffering Servant would arise in lowly conditions and wear none of the usual emblems of royalty, making His true identity visible only to the discerning eye of faith.

Isaiah further describes the appearance of Christ as He would appear as He was being scourged prior to His crucifixion. “His appearance was so disfigured beyond that of any man and his form marred beyond human likeness” (Isaiah 52:14). These words describe the inhuman cruelty He suffered to the point that He no longer looked like a human being (Matthew 26:67; 27:30; John 19:3). His appearance was so awful that people looked at Him in astonishment.

Most of the images we have of Jesus today are probably not accurate. Jesus was a Jew, so He likely had dark skin, dark eyes, and dark hair. This is a far cry from the blond-haired, blue-eyed, fair-skinned Jesus in many modern pictures. One thing is clear: if it were important for us to know what He really did look like, Matthew, Peter and John, who spent three years with Him, would certainly be able to give us an accurate description, as would His own brothers, James and Jude. Yet, these New Testament writers offer no details about His physical attributes.

Famous figures tend to be molded into an image that we are comfortable with. Of course Jesus was probably olive-skinned, like most peoples around the Mediterranean. However, the religious white family is going to have a picture of white Jesus. The black family will have black Jesus, and so on.

This is kind of absurd. While Jesus may not have been pure white like somebody from Ireland or the U.K. he was more white then you might imagine. The proof is the modern day Jew. Jesus was Jewish so if you take a Jew today who does not have Gentile blood in the family he will look like a white man therefore Jesus would look similar. Many of the Bible references to a dark skin was the result of being out in the sun all the time. Jesus was anything but black, sorry to burst your bubble!

Obama fails made an absurd remark

Mike G is wrong also. Modern day Jews have spent a few thousand years in Europe. They're very "watered down." A better comparison would be the Palestinians who never left Palestine.

The Bible doesn't describe Jesus the Christ. Isaiah mentions that he would be a man acquainted with sorrows. "He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him." He was a common everyday Judean. And most likely with olive skin typical of the indigenous people of the Mediterranean basin.

I never understood how people got the idea Heysus was white. I remember taking the nuns to task over this. They had this tall, slender, blonde haired, blue eyed Jesus… and I recall asking "where in the world did you get this picture? Bc Heysus most certainly didn't look like this." You'd have thought they were gut shot. I had to remind them what the Commandments say about "false witness" when they started to get uppity.

Colours do not exist, they are mental constructs of iridology.

Some tribes can't differentiate the difference between shades of blue and green, they even use the same word for the two colours.

Humans beings see 3 colours through the R.G & B spectrum.

The Mantis shrimp see's a 12 colour spectrum.

In actual fact, reality it's self is a construct of sense perception.

Case in point: the Himba tribe of remote northern Namibia, to whom water looks “white” like milk and the sky looks “black” like coal, and who struggle to distinguish between blue and green, yet can easily pick out micro-shades which Americans cannot see.

Jesus was brown, but he converted to white a long time ago.
