    "If space has curvature and"

OK, but it is spaceTIME that has curvature...

"if curvature is created by mass,"

... no, spacetime is created by mass.

"does space equivalent to mass which is missing?"

    In English, please?

"could the intrinsic curvature of the universe give space mass?"

The contents of the Universe provide the curvature, relaxation of which provides "inflation", "expansion", Universal clock rates at each epoch, and/or the one way arrow of time. The Universe cannot give a property to the "statistical measure" of spacetime.

No! but an absence of curvature in space implies an absence of mass in the spatial proximity.
