Floyd Mayweather outclassed Oscar De La Hoya?

No version of De La Hoya could beat Mayweather.

It was only a split-decision in 07 because of GBP. Mayweather makes good fighters look sh*t. DHL is a GOOD fighter, but Mayweather is leagues above him.

Oscar is too crude and inefficient to beat Floyd Mayweather. He was in his prime when he fought him and couldn't even beat him.

How do people still think FMJ would lose to a simple and crude fighter like De La Hoya? De La Hoya was good, but FMJ is legendary.

People always give fake scenarios because their feelings and pride get in the way. They always say " but the Dela hoya in 98' can beat him, In reality, Floyd mayweather won and it should have been a UD victory eventhough it was a close fight. Some people are blinded by a decision victory instead of knowing the truth behind it {:'}.

Hard to say, Mayweather was able to get into De La Hoya head before the fight. Therefore, an enraged De La Hoya was boxing in a crude style during that fight, giving Mayweather trouble for most part but was still out-boxed meaning that Mayweather's plan worked. Remember the controversial close decision that De La Hoya won against Pernell Whitaker(Who's a better defensive boxer than Mayweather) 10 years before his fight with Mayweather? Well nearly half of the observers of that fight felt that the decision should have gone to Whitaker. Now, De La Hoya was still young when he fought Whitaker but he was still at his most natural weight at Welterweight. Even though Whitaker is greater than Mayweather, Mayweather certainly isn't far behind in defense and greatness(Somewhat). Just so you know, Mayweather was 2 weight classes(140 and 147) above his prime weight(140) when he fought De La Hoya. Now imagine the Floyd Mayweather that out-boxed Juan Manuel Marquez against Oscar De La Hoya that unconvincingly decisioned Pernell Whitaker. I think the results still may be close to the same. I'd say Mayweather still wins by an even closer decision.

The fight was closely fought and very competitive till the last round. I would not say that Floyd outclassed Oscar. He just barely bested him.Oscar was no longer in his best prime but neither was he washed up. Oscar was just a few fights removed from his best but unfortunately losing efforts versus Tito Trinidad and Bernard Hopkins and was coming off wins over still potent Ric Mayorga and then upand coming Felix Sturm.

I agree that the fight was only scored a split decision because of golden boy but i do think it was still a bit close. Oscar pressed the action, Floyd outlanded him.

With that said; Oscar was not in his prime during this fight. Watch his fights in the late 90's to see what I'm talking about. Oscar was already beat goods coming down from middleweight.

Both Mayweather and Oscar all all time greats but Mayweather is 1 of the top 20 p4p fighters ever, Oscar is not even close.

A prime DLH lets say a 1998-2000 DLH would have beaten PBF. At any weight 135-147-154, dont matter. DLH had a good strong fast jab, and his left hook was lethal, he could launch it from all different angles. PBF is no Sweet Pea, Meaning that DLH would be landing and not all his punches would hit PBF hard, but enough would land to cause some damage. When they fought DLH clearly wasnt as fast as he was in the late 90's early 2000's.

Dont act like Floyd cruised to a victory in that fight. Oscar did a good job and a younger oscar would have won no doubt.

I scored the fight and gave it to Mayweather by one round so I disagree with your assertion that some sort of wrongdoing was done on the official scorecards. It could have went either way

Floyd wasn't even at his best weight in the fight. Mayweather's prime is before he ventured into the welterweight division.
