Is it common for Cancers to wait until it's too late to say how they feel?

Question

I moved from my hometown over a year ago and it seems like every so often a guy from my past pops up and wants to reconnect. It's almost always a Cancer! They'd be just flirty friends back when I lived there and now that I'm gone they decide to finally express their true feelings and try to get me to come back. It's so annoying because a lot of times I really liked them when I lived there, but it wasn't going anywhere and now I can't really do anything about it… I feel like talking to them is a waste of time now.. Last week it happened for the fourth time with yet another Cancer and it was a guy I had liked for years…

um yeh to be honest i dont give anyone a chance. I do flirt and like people, but as far as really opening up, unless they meet all standards, i will just have fun.. not in a physical sense but in a an emotional sense, kind of like leading them on. Entertaining false hopes, because i find light hearted stuff nice. The moment it gets too heavy, i'll leave cos i will understand this person doesnt have the commitment or loyalty, and stability i need - of course im aware of the flip side, perhaps if i gave people chances they would, but that means exposing me to my deepest fear - rejection. I know that no ones perfect, but i also know what it takes to make a relationship flourish, its someone with similar values, whilst attraction is often had with opposites, you need some common ground. Perhaps cancers are greatly attracted to you, but the moment any kind of rejection comes fourth, see ya.. i'll hide in my room

Yes it can be difficult to get them to commit .

I don't see any reason to want to "get rid" of one, there are many other people who do want.

Yeah. They're afraid of rejection, and when they commit, they're fully attached to that person.
