what does livery generally cover?
I'm soon getting a horse, which I will be keeping at an equestrian centre nearby and I was wondering what the livery usually covers. This is a question that I will soon be asking my teacher in any case, but for the time being I wanted to find out what it generally entails.
I'm under the impression that the payment is literally for the stall and feeding the horse, whilst all the mucking out, grooming and exercise will be my responsibilities.
I'd like to know how things generally work from your experiences.
Thank you!

There are three main types of livery options, some stables offer them all and some limit what they offer. The three are:
- D.I.Y livery - this is when you pay for stable/pasture but are required to do everything yourself including feed, groom, mucking out ect.
- Part livery - this is an agreement made between you and your stable that they will do a certain amount of the work eg. morning feed and you do the rest.
- Full livery - this is when you pay the stable to do everything and take care of your horse entirely.
All livery is different though as all yards and owners needs are different so it is up to you and the boarding stable what agreement you come to. In terms of price the first I listed should be the cheapest in terms of boarding fees and get more expensive the more you want them to care for your new horse.
