Do i5 dual cores use the same sockets as the i3s?

the i-series has 1st gen 2nd gen and 3rd gen
also some are supported by some chipsets and not others
also a BIOS will be programmed to support a limited list of cpu's
so you cannot just go the socket.
use the intel ARK site to see each cpu specifics
or cpuworld
eg search for intel i3 3110M

no the pin set is way different you will not be abel to put it in if you try you will broke it
