Anyone have any tips for getting odor out of clothes a cat peed on? Multiple washings haven't done it.
Thanks.

Soak the clothing in an enzymatic cleaner like Petastic or Simple solutions for Cat Urine, by soak I mean in a bucket or container not just spraying the clothes but in a bath of the enzymatic cleaner and let them sit, after a day ring& rinse the clothes out, soak them in fresh enzymatic cleaner for another day or so. After a few days rinse the clothing again, then put it in the washer with another cup or so of the enzymatic cleaner and regular detergent as well. You need to buy an enzymatic cleaner that is designed to break down cat urine, regular detergents and solutions will not get rid of the smell.

ha ha.... very funny about litter-training... sometimes it's not that simple... those of us with geriatric and/or nervous kitters understand this and try to work with our pets as best we can
Let's assume that your kitty has been checked by your vet for any possible bladder infections, etc.
I have had great success with Nature's Miracle products (all enzymatic, working to break down and neutralize the chemical composition of the urine). I have treated multiple surfaces (carpet, pet beds, towels) and the fabric color has remained unchanged.
NM's Cat Urine Destroyer is a great enzymatic cleaner. Spray your clothing--or put the item in a bucket and pour the cleaner over it--and soak... I'd soak it overnight just to be sure. I then rinse the item and wash it. I've had a "soiled" cat bed, I sprayed and laundered it (All Free and Clear detergent), and the bed's owner (not the offender) returned contentedly to her bed as though it was always meant for her and never marked by another.
Regular Nature's Miracle works the same as above--I've had wonderful results.
NM's Advanced is great for repeat problem areas (in addition to "simply" removing the urine smell)--it leaves a pheremone trace behind that tells kitty he doesn't need to soil or mark this area. This product has a strong initial fragrance (not bad, just strong), but it fades fairly quickly and works truly to prevent repeat offenses--I have never had a repeat problem where this was used.
Drs Foster and Smith--catalog--has very reasonable prices for this product and very quick delivery!
Good luck to you!

There is an excellent product called Via Fresh Lemon Drop cleaner. It is enzyme based. The problem is it is difficult to find. I get it at a janitorial supply. Since I'm out of it, the janitorial place is closed until Monday and one of my cats choose Friday night to pee on my bed, I'll have to try an enzyme laundry detergent or other enzyme cleaner (Woolite makes on that works fairly well) combined with vinegar and hope for the b best...or sleep without blankets this
weekend :-(

I recently looking at 131 uses for vinegar.I believe you might find the answer if you look up 131 uses for vinegar-there was great info about laundry ,stains, odors. On carpets there was a great product-simple green yellow diluted that would take out any kind of animal stain. I bet you can dind your answer with the vinegar and it is safe most times on colored clothes too.

Are you using a biological (enzymatic) washing detergent? Products containing enzymes are normally very good at removing cat urine.

Try a product called Natures Miracle. It works pretty well. You may also try Oxy detergents. I have found that laundry soap with Febreeze works well. I think it may be Tide but I am not sure. Good luck to you.
