Does Mayweather fighting Canelo prove, once and for all, that he is not afraid of Pac?

Between the two, I consider Canelo, at this stage in the game, to be a much bigger threat to Mayweather than Manny Pac ever was. Canelo is bigger, stronger, much more durable and YOUNG. Its not going to be an easy fight for Floyd no matter what. Does taking this fight finally dispel the idea that Floyd Mayweather is not afraid of Manny Pac?

Update:

From the first three responses, you guys are seeming to get more caught up in my comparisons of Canelo and Manny Pac than the actual question. The question had to do with Mayweather being AFRAID of threatening fighters. Make no mistake, Canelo IS a serious threat to Mayweather. And to the smart @$$ that said Ive watched fights for six months, try more like thirty years. If you are all about the legends thats fine, but its an COMPLETELY true fact that unskilled young retire more skilled older fighters. Maybe you oughta check YOUR history.

Floyd does deserve credit for fighting Alvarez but fighting pacquiao is a different thing. Nonetheless the term "cherry picking" should be thrown in the water...Floyd said it himself he didnt want to risk his health to someone who might be juicing in reference to PAc.That is true. He JUST might be avoiding Pac for that very reason. In hindsight, Floyd throughout his career had to struggle to some lefties save for the Ghost. Zab Judah,a powerful lefty knocked him down (although ruled out by the ref), Cotto, someone who switches to the southpaw stance made him bleed and been hit a lot.Ortiz, who just shouldnt have touched Floyd hit Floyd that much. It makes me wonder, could the series of bouts with the lefties Floyd's preparation for Manny. (LOL. At this stage of their career, PAc vs Floyd will no doubt still be a sellout but a complete mismatch.) and lets not forget,,Dela Hoya, a converted lefty, gave May a tough night and had to scape via split D. ( i had it for Oscar no matter how many times i see it to be honest).

Does Mayweather fighting Canelo prove, once and for all, that he is not afraid of Pac?

In all reality, Floyd is now damned if he doesn't and damned if he does fight Pacquiao. People will be thinking he avoided Pacquiao like a plague in Pac's prime and if he chooses to fight Pac, he'll be criticized for fighting somebody near the end of his career. Right now, I gotta agree, fighting the undefeated and very dangerous Canelo is Floyd's way of saying to the boxing world, he aint afraid of Pac no more like he shouldnt have a few years back

Mayweather will and could outclassed Manny Paquiao in a EVEN field. Mosley is a actual warrior he did take the all tests in evaluation to the gruesome creature Manny Pacquiao Pacquiao is a cherry picker and a ducker. Mayweather fought between the suited, on an identical time as the juiced guy combat the boxer whom his final oppenent have defeated.

Canelo is a bigger threat than Pacquiao "ever was"? LOL. Come on. Canelo's not even a top 10 P4P guy. If Pacquiao and Money fought in 2010-2011 timeframe, it would have been even money. Right now, Canelo's a 4 to 1 UNDERDOG. GTFOH. Pacquiao was JUST AS FAST as Money, threw 1,000 punches a fight, came in at unheard of angles, had a granite chin, and his footwork was 10 times better than Canelo....if you think Canelo is a bigger threat to Money now than Pacquiao was 3 years ago, you've been watching boxing for probably six months.

Proves that Mayweather liked what he saw in the Trout fight. Canelo can get tired.....unlike Pac's unquenchable fire....you'd have to KO him cold and trip his front feet to do it. Even then Marquez had a broken nose that stabbed right into his face and bled horribly.

I see your point here. It shows it was Bob Arum who was stopping the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight. Even 50 cent said, after he left mayweather, that Mayweather was never afraid of Pacquiao.

Nothing will ever prove that Floyd didn't duck Pac, because he ducked Pacquiao. IF Floyd wanted the Pacquiao fight, he could have made it. He didn't so that proves he was afraid of Pacquiao.

no to different fighters , while i respect floyd for fighting canelo this has nothing to do with fighting manny.

Doesnt prove anything at all. Mayweather can always demand Pacquaio and have Alvarez and Rios shoved to the side just because money the kind money itll generate!
