Definition of Charge?

Hi, I'm just trying to find a very simplified definition for electric charge.

E.g. Current is flow of electrons.

No more than a sentence, but this is really important for my science revision.

Please help?

    Hey Mentaculus, that's 2 sentences.

It's a property of electrons and protons that leads to chemical properties, electric current, and magnetic effects.

A charge is a property of a particle or collection of particles, which causes it to experience a force in the presence of other charges; this force is repulsive for like charges, and attractive for opposites.

Edit: There, now it's once sentence made of two independent clauses :D

Electrons and protons aren't the only charged particles...positrons, for example, have positive charges. However, that is a bit nit-picky I guess.

A Charge of electric blew the circuit breaker, as it overloaded the system.
