Is a bachelor's degree from the U.S. valid in Canada?
I have been looking into possibly moving to Canada after I complete my bachelor's degree in nursing and begin working. I am reading up on the various steps it takes to move to Canada, but am confused as to whether my bachelor's degree will be considered valid. Would I have to have further schooling?
Thanks in advance to all answers.

In general, a degree in nursing from any recognized US college/university is acceptable in Canada. Canada and USA honor each other's degrees so as long as it's not some online university that hands out degrees like candy, you should be okay.
But here's the catch. In each province, in order to get hired, the nursing association requires any nurse applying for a job to be accredited in the province. To become accredited usually involves that you pay a fee and take the certification exam. If you pass, you can work in that province. If you decide to move to another province, you MAY have to do that all over again.
In Quebec, it tends to be even more difficult for nurses from USA or English Canada to be hired. That's because they have a mandatory requirement that the nurse or doctor be fluent in French. That makes it harder to qualify.

Just like each state in the US in Canada each province regulates nursing. You get certified for your speciality in a large field.

You are given credit for your studies. It is not a show up and start work program. You need to pass a Canadian test just like a Canadian Nursing student does.If you have your degree and some experience you should be able to pass the test and can then seek work in your field.
