Can magnetism help the human race achieve a greater understanding of science/physics of the known universe?
If so, how and why?
the best answer gets the points.
Not favoring one aspect of physics over another. Just asking what magnetism can do......as a precursor to other areas of physics. I just want to see if anyone can understand the importance of magnetism in this world...and what perhaps it might hold for the future.

Magnetism is one process (of many) that physicists have no explanation of HOW it works. Others include gravity and the radiation of energy.
A full understanding of magnetism implies that there has been a major discovery in the field of matter / energy.
That implies that there could be any number of spin-off applications of the new knowledge.

There are a lot of phenomena where magnetism is the dominant physical process, and is therefore essential to understanding that phenomenon.
Magnetism does seem to "attract" a lot of kooks, however. It's really a bit nutty to favor one aspect of physics over the others.

As "the universe" means everything, then obviously any further knowledge gained through magnetism will inevitably increase our understanding of the universe - it would be impossible for it not to

Yes. Academia is mistaken and has misled about such a vast quantum of 'knowledge' out of misguided elitist ideologies and career preservation. The truth is that the World in which we exist is completely alive, conscious, elegant, and still very mysterious. Magnetism is huge component in the equation, though it is presently, largely trivialized relative to its significance. Buddha bless all.
