How to buy small amounts of gold bullion?

When anyone conducts an online search they can find thousands of websites for companies (of various levels of credibility) that will buy your old gold and silver but how does someone go about finding a place to buy gold/silver?

I'm not looking to buy online but I would like to know what types of places will sell gold to customers. I have read that its best to avoid gold coins because you end up paying more then the gold is worth because of the "artistry" involved in making the coins. Same for simple jewelry. I'd just like to be able to buy an oz or less as my budget allows.

How does everyone do it?

Coin purchasers typically add about $eight-to-$25.00 (US) mark-as much as their wares, as they're wanting to make a revenue, not just sell it for what they paid, despite the fact that probabilities are that they paid much less anyway. In the event you were to try to sell a 1 oz. Gold coin the vendor would likely present you say $1310 for it, despite the fact that he would promote it for $1335 when gold is valued at $1325. Except you do your own buying and selling a brokerage or trader quite often receives a small fee. Lamentably the one option to real purchase it at spot fee is to come to be a gold purchaser or dealer, but these dealers should not be charging excessive quantities. Contact several until you believe they're supplying a great deal to you. Ebay is one other proposal seeing that they've many bargains. Good luck.
