Porn sites and spyware n crap?

Hey, just wondering how to get rid of garbage collected on the internet, especially malwar and spy ware? and also what is Malwar?

Update:

Will restoring it to factory settings get rid of everything?

Update 2:

Is the internet security services I got with my internet company good? Bell Aliant in Canda?

Also dont you think that companies like Norton, and AVG and so on create viruses them selves and put them out there so you buy there product? That just seems like a no brainer to me, you know Mafia style?

A Hosts File is The Best Way To Block The Bad Stuff From

Getting On Your PC, I Have Used One For Years,

How to effectively prevent Malware by using a HOSTS file,

This Site Will Give You All Info You Need To Install And Manage a Hosts File:

    http://www.malwarehelp.org/how-to-effectively-prev...

A custom made HOSTS file containing thousands of dubious URLs can be used to block all kinds of ads, Web bugs, cookies, etc., by stopping your computer from communicating with the ad servers. This way you may only block sites that serve unwanted content or any other site that you choose to block.

    Host Managers,

There are many applications available for download for easily managing your HOSTS file, nearly all of them are free. I use and recommend a fine freeware application HostsMan. It can do everything you can conceivably do with a HOSTS file from simple editing to scanning for duplicates or possible hijacks, locking the HOSTS file, Flush DNS cache, lock your HOSTS file and it can even disable the DNS Client service. The Download Link is at bottom of page of the url above.

Note: Using a HOSTS file will not prevent ads that are served from the same Website you are viewing and also it will not work with URL's that begin with IP numbers.

Well first off it is good to understand what malware is and does so you know how important it is to avoid. Malware is kind of like a mini program that was created by a hacker who gave it a job to do. A lot of the malware that is floating around is semi harmless and only causes frustration by creating pop ups or slowing your system down with junk. But it is possible for malware to be built with bad intent in mind. A talented hacker can create a small file of code that is able to wreak havoc on your machine and personal info. So you need to be sure that you have something in place to help stop the bad stuff from sliding by. Antiviruses are a good example of a program that is made just to spot the files that are not supposed to get in your computer. However they are not as secure as most people think, and why they are necessary to have, I recommend you look at the free options because they tend to be just as safe as the expensive versions. One security tool that you will definitely want to install would be a firewall. There are also free firewalls available that will work fine for the average computer user.

As far as cleaning up the mess that has already been made there are ways to remove junk files and browsing history which you will find in internet options. If you in fact do have malware on your machine it will most likely be picked up by the antivirus, but can sometimes require you to identify the file that is causing the problems and remove it from the hard drive.

First, do these things to clean up junk files on your computer:

    1. Click the start (Windows) button > Control Panel > Network and Internet > Internet Options > under the General tab (should be default) click Delete. Check AT LEAST the first four options, from 'Temporary Internet Files' to 'Download History' and then click Delete. Then click OK.

    2. Click the start (Windows) button > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Cleanup. If it asks you which drive, select (C:), then it will start scanning. Check every box, UNLESS you are using Windows Vista and you see Hibernation Files that are somewhere around 3.99GB, if you see anything similar to that leave it unchecked. Click OK. Click Delete Files.

    3. Now search for questionable files such as Toolbars you may have downloaded in your Programs.

Click the start (Windows) button > Control Panel > Programs > Program Features. If you see a program you are unsure about you should google it first to see if it is malware or a legitimate program you might actually need. Click each one and then click Uninstall or Uninstall/Change at the top of the list. If it prompts you that associated files my be deleted click OK, and click OK for any other prompt that may come up.

    4. Finally, you should run a Malware search program. I use SpyHunter http://www.enigmasoftware.com/products/spyhunter/ and am pretty happy with it. It is not free. If you look around on google you may be able to find a Malware program with a free trial, although try to go with a reputable program because downloading a questionable Malware program could set you right back to square one.

You can use any internet security protection like Norton Internet Security or AVG Internet Security. But if you're looking for a free security tool then I suggest get yourself Microsoft Internet Security and you can use Google Chrome as your web browser. Why? Google chrome do not allow malware. spyware contained web page to be browsed on your computer. A malware is a specific virus which try to steal information from PC or try to gain access of it etc.

Option one: Have the security that can prevent and remove it. Such as: Norton, McAfee, AVG, Malwarebytes, etc..

Option two: Factory reset you computer, alot of computers now have a built in function for this which usually something along the lines of pressing f11 on start up.

Option three: Replace the harddrive or buy a new computer.

Thats all I got. I usualy download AVG to help protect me then if i get something (from gaming sites not porn) I do a factory reset.
