PS3 Red Flashing Light?
I have an older, fatter ps3 and yesterday when I was trying to play CoD the game just stopped and turned off by itself and the red light started flashing. I read online that it meant it was overheated, so I didn't turn it on for a day. Today, when I went to test it out, it let me go to the game menu, and then it did it again. Now it wont even turn on, it just makes the noise and keeps flashing red. Is there anything I can do? I saw that vacuuming it might help, but how should I properly vacuum it?
Thank you

Your PS3 has experienced the Yellow Light Of Death. Sadly, you'll have to either fix it yourself (there are videos on YouTube showing how to do so) or get it replaced via Sony.
Mine went through the same thing a few years ago. I had to send it in for "repairs."
If you do choose to send it in, keep in mind that you will NOT get the same PS3 you sent in. They'll send you a replacement.
Last thing to know is the price. Repair pricing depends on where you live. In my case, I live in Los Angeles I paid a grand total of $163.53.

The same thing happened to me 2 weeks ago. It would turn on for 3 seconds, then beep 3 times and shut off. I tried turning it on for 3 days straight but still wouldn't work. I got frustrated because I didn't wanna spend over $200 bucks on a new system. I went to Walmart and bought the 250 GB for $270. I gave my brother in law my broken ps3 and he called me a day later laughing at me and said he had fixed it. So whatever you do, don't buy a new system, and don't throw away your old one. My brother in law fixed it with this blog http://tinyurl.com/bfwuljr good luck
