Is there a simple to follow diabetic diet and general info site out there?

A few months ago my doctor told me that with my fasting blood sugar at 6.5-7 I now meet the definition of someone who is diabetic. I'm still young at 49, with no history in my family of diabetes and I started out weighing 266 but in the last 4 months I've managed to lose 20 lbs meaning I'm now down to around 245 lbs. As a 6'1" male I know I can still lose some more and I am working towards that.

Now, while I know it's not as high as some peoples I do know it needs to be lower. I've cut out sodas, sugars in things like coffee and cereals and any obvious source I can find it but I know that there are other dietary changes I need to make. The doctor wants me to give that a try before we look at any other form of intervention.

I've been to see a dietitian but I feel lost and overwhelmed by it all. One thing I did take away from my meetings with her is that there are foods I can use to help regulate my sugar and there are sources of sugars that are not obvious but can be troubling. Can someone please direct me to a site that would lay out some of the dietary issues and steps I can take to help lower my blood sugar? There must be an easy to read and follow site for simple folk like me. lol

Thanks so much

The sites of the following human nutrition experts are very helpful for diabetics:

    Dr. Neal Barnard

    Dr. Dean Ornish

    Dr. Joel Fuhrman

    Dr. John McDougall

    Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn, Jr.

    Professor T. Colin Campbell

Each of these respected researchers has an excellent web site and excellent books with specific advice for diabetes. If it's Type II diabetes, you will learn that consuming more and more insulin will not reverse diabetes. In many cases, however, a "whole plant based diet" can reduce your dependence on medications and in many cases reverse the condition completely.

You might start with Dr. Joel Fuhrman and Dr. Neal Barnard. However, they all have the same advice which is far more effective than advice you may get from so called mainstream health providers. Why not get your information from the source rather than medical professionals who have not cracked open a research paper in many years?

I've been a diabetic for 15 years and I don't know what a diabetic diet is, what I do know is what foods are good for me and what foods are bad for me. A meal plan with smaller portions spread out throughout the day with lots of vegetables and fruits is a diet everyone should be following, you may call it a diabetic diet, I'll call it a healthy way to eat.

I'm a 45 year old woman and was recently diagnosed as being a borderline diabetic. My doctor prescribed some medication, but before filling it I decided to do some research on the internet which led me to the methods. After reading this ebook and applying the methods, my scepticism turned to 100% belief. I noticed that my energy levels increased significantly and I felt more rested in the morning, my symptoms started going away.

I am very happy to tell you that I have been feeling better than I have felt in years and my doctor informed me that he will be taking me off my prescriptions if I keep this up.

I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

There is a lot of stuff on the internet that is basically fat-shaming diabetics for causing their own diabetes with their bad diet and lack of exercise and general lack of moral fibre. A lot of this stuff is written by non-doctors, often with a supplement or diet or training plan to sell that they claim will completely cure diabetes if only people stick to it.

I read this interesting book https://tr.im/Oe3ie that gave me a lot of useful tips about my disease and also a different perspective on the best therapeutical approach. I think you should read it too.

    I hope it helps
