Tim Thomas traded to Islanders?

So cap circumvention takes its first shape with Jacobs dumping salary and getting the Islanders to the cap floor ahead of fridays deadline to reach the cap floor without penalty. And the reward for Jacobs....a 2nd round pick to escape a deal and help a supporter avoid the scrutiny of the NHLPA. Thoughts? Is it right for a team to reach the floor with contracts they dont have to pay? And is it a surprise Jacobs benefits from being the first to violate the spirit of the cap?

    Wow, thanks for the news.

If there is a loophole, someone will find it.

    Not surprised...

Good move for the Boston Bruins. Tim Thomas will retire in a year or so, same with the Islanders other goalie (Nabokov). All they will have left in 2 years is DiPietro. The horror.

Tim Thomas is hot. And it sucks that I have to be an islanders fan now. Maybe he will retire.

    thomas is a baby.

just because he does not win the vezina and his team gets eliminated in the playoffs 1 round, he stops playing.

You have to give him credit for creativity...trading a guy who does not want to play hockey.
