New Pound for Pound list?

Whats your new pound for pound list, I am making the argument that Marquez goes to # 1 and Mayweather # 2, I think Marquez knockout over Pacquiao is more impressive then anything Mayweather has done in years, Mayweather only has three fights in 3 years, his win against Marquez was against a Marquez 4 years ago was against a blow up Marquez.

For the most part I think Mayweathers inactivity drops him to # 2 under Marquez.

Also how does a fight go against Marquez Mayweather now? Could Marquez pass the drug testing?

Update:

G - Yea, Im not saying Marquez is better talent wise, Mayweather is far better technically, bit I haven't seen Mayweather fight an actual real opponent in his prime since Castillo. Its not question after he got with Al Haymen its all been about image change and protecting his record. I dont much stock in an undefeated record, this is boxing and if you fight everyone then you will loose once. I had Pacquiao as # 1 and Mayweather # 2 but I think if your already in the top 5 pound for pound and then you knockout the # 1 pound for pound that should make you # 1.

Update 2:

R. Salido - Guillermo Rigondeaux??? Already? Cant imagine the reasoning behind that, got any?

Update 3:

$ - Yea Im a boxing fan, not..whatever it is you are I dont hate on fighters and look at the sport logically, Mayweather is great, I dont like the fact he only fights once a year and that he has protected his record in the last few years, but he got all the tools no question.

Update 4:

Joe Rogan had Victor Conte on last year and the one guy he mentioned by name as being heavily involved in ped's was Marquez. Propr started using after the Maywearher fight so he could fit comfortably at welterweight. It was a good interview, Conte said there is not a top athlete out there who does not use some form of PED.

Update 5:

R Salido - Yes I agree about Broner, anywhere in the top 10 is absurd, how much did Haymen pay Oscar to get him placed there. I predict Broner to be a let down, once he fights someone that has a chance at beating him. Rigondeaux has as much right to be there as Broner, but neither deserve to be there at all, I think Rigondeaux is defiantly one of the best prospects right now.

I admit I got personal bias with Rigo cuz I'm a fan, but these P4P lists are subjective anyway and there's no real way to gauge who's really better pound for pound. Hard to compare a heavyweight to a jr featherweight. That being said, I think Rigo is definitely more worthy than Broner, who The Ring has at #5. That's ridiculous.

Though I don't entirely agree, I can totally understand Marquez at #1. It's pretty much an accepted fact that Mayweather is miles better than him, but you have a point. The fact that he fights like once every 12-15 months doesn't do him any favors. He's practically been half-retired for the past 3 years lol.

That said, I have my top 5 as:

    1. Mayweather

    2. Marquez

    3. Ward

    4. Martinez

    5. Pacquiao

And I don't think a second fight between Mayweather and Marquez would be very different from the first. Marquez is much stronger at welterweight now, but strength wasn't his problem against Mayweather. The problem was EVERYTHING ELSE lol. Juan couldn't land anything on Mayweather all night. Mayweather's size, speed, reflexes, defense, and sharpness are what made Marquez look so silly against him. And those are all advantages that Mayweather would still have.

Source(s): And yes I think Marquez would pass the drug tests. He's not juicing he just worked hard. The fourth Pacquiao fight was his third fight at welterweight, so he's obviously learned a better way to prepare. He's not on drugs those are just butthurt Pacquiao fanboys yelling that.

Juan Manuel Marquez at #1? Maybe. I just don't know. And a rematch with Mayweather, although intriguing, is not much different.
