Yahoo answer spell check not working?

Yahoo answer spell check has always been flakey but now, on all the computers I use, it simply marks all words as errors. Does yahoo have no one test there code?

The YA spellcheck hasn't been working properly for weeks, and since the latest update it can only be used as a word counter. Not much you can do, no update, nothing else, all you can do is wait for Yahoo to get the problem solved. Or use a spellchecker which might already be installed in your browser without you ever noticing it before. Just go to your favorite search engine, enter "get spellchecker for (enter browser name here)" and check the lists presented. That's how I found a good spellchecker for the Firefox myself: http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-use-f...

The quality evaluation assessor person was probably laid off the week before Easter when 105 of the Yahoo staff was laid off, or there never was such a person. If Chesapeake Oil has one or more people doing that (her mother is one of my friends) for them, why doesn't Yahoo Inc. ?

Sarcasm aside, I suspect Yahoo has taken part of the spellchecker programs offline so the IT engineers and technicians can edit the pr command lines of the programs and maybe add new words to the spellchecker's dictionary files. A program can't be running , operational, while the computer command lines are being edited, and maybe double checked that editing hasn't created MORE glitches. The spell chcker has always had problems, but the glitches became a lot worse after the June, 2011 system software update. Since all the spellchcker program has been doing since last Wednesday is tallying how many words you type, maybe it's actually a GOOD sign that part of the progran has been deactivated so the Yahoo IT engineers and technicians have the time to actually edit and double and triple check that the edits have not created more command line conflicts - glitches. I've programmed enough computer endless loops myself that when I get caught in one online , I usually know how to get out of the loop before i give up in frustration. I frequently get in one just trying to login to Yahoo, because of a typo.

Just either switch to browser that has a web spellchecker program built in, like Google chrome or FireFox, or you can download the Google toll bar and pin a webspellchecker button to the toolbar. I've been using the Google web spellchecker for more than 7 years, long enough to have accidentally added misspelled words to the dictionary files on MY computer's hard drives. Google chrome is not quite "there" yet, but at least Yahoo doesn't have incompatibilities with Google Chrome like it does with IE.

There are THREE different threads on main SB right now about the spellchecker problems. You can add your two cents to one of those threads. My suggestions are very UNWELCOME on the Suggestion board, so trying to make a suggestion there is pretty pointless. To get to the main Suggestion Board. click the about tab, then select "Suggestion board. "
