I'm looking to get into a new school but does anyone know about these guys & their qualifications?

I found a school much closer than my current one that teaches taekwondo & I was wondering if anyone knows anything about the instructors qualifications.

here is their website: http://www.taekwondomaximus.com/school/i%E2%80%A6

Kenneth Hance

Chief Instructor & Owner;

Sixth Degree Black Belt, ITF, C-6-29;

Trained with Tae Kwon-Do founder General Choi Hong Hi;

Over 30 years experience in the martial arts;

First Degree Black Belt, American Hapkido Association; and

Field Agent for Kids Safe Network.

Paul Zenchuk

Instructor, Jeet Kune Do and Grappling;

Trained Jeet Kune Do under Makoto Kabayama and Grappling (with Shoot Fighting) under Eric Paulson;

Over 20 years experience in the Martial Arts

they seem ok but it looks geared towards kids which worries but it says they are separate so any info about these guys would be appreciated.

    Their website is an orange creamsicle.

    It is without a doubt one of the worst websites I've ever seen. It does so little to promote taekwondo or their school that I left the site with more questions about taekwondo than I did when I entered their site. Truly, they are not web site developers, and the site needs to get a face lift fast. Orange and red are migraine triggers for me, and I'm feeling it now... I hope you appreciate the feedback I'm giving you because of the pain I endured :-)

    However, a cook a book does not make, and neither does a book a cook.

    I'm not saying anything about the instructor, but the website doesn't either - and it really ought to say a bit more about him. Not even a David Caruso-like money shot! A cheesy thumbnail of him doing a flying kick? It makes me wonder what they're hiding.

    Why don't you go and watch some classes? Since you already have TKD experience it shouldn't be too hard for you to figure out if what they are teaching is any good or not. It's not like you are new to this. I am sure you can determine quality a lot easier this way than us judging from a website and your description of the website.

    Kids is not always a bad sign. A lot of schools do it to keep the school going financially because there often is not enough late teens and adults. Kids classes supplement the income otherwise adults would have to pay more tuition or the school would have to close. A teacher who uses kids classes to help with the income and in turn does a good job with the kids rather than just uses them for a meal ticket does deserve credit.

    Unfortunately I don't know anything about them. It doesn't look like they are teaching the JKD. Their main focus is going to be on TKD with a little added hapkido. I doubt if you could earn rank in hapkido. If he only has a 1st Dan in Hapkido he should not be able to promote anyone to brown or black in Hapkido.

    It does look like they are mostly a child's program. But you never know until you visit.

    If what you learn while there works for you..i would say it really does not matter what their backgrounds are unless you will need future accreditation...the kids thing is necessary for clubs to survive and can be superb support for parents so dont assume its a bad thing :)

    I just had to pick up on a remark by jwbulldogs.....it would not be tkd with a bit of hkd ..that would would most probably be tkd with some joint locks/manipulations -as to learn hkd requires many years of training and it a quite separate philosophy to tkd...also i would guess these techniques are shared by many other styles

    They've got a youth and adults program.

    The instructors seem qualified.

    There's a 30-day guarantee/trial period.

    I'd give it a try.
