Is moisturizing a healed tattoo bad?
I've had my foot tattoo for three months, and I've been moisturizing it with Curel (lotion that my artist recommended to use while healing if I ran out of the cream he gave me, that has the doctors/medically approved logo on the front). I've been putting the lotion on about every three or four days, when the skin starts to dry out and make the tattoo look faded. I've heard stories that you're not sopposed to put lotion on healed tattoos, that it will make them fade or turn color. Is this true? Should I stop using the cream?

That's not true at all. It's totally fine to put lotion on a tattoo and you should, you should moisturize all your skin to keep it looking and feeling healthy! Curel is great as long as its unscented (during the healing process) after the tattoo is healed you can use any lotion you want.

Yes that lotion is fine. I used Cetaphil and mine healed perfectly fine. Just be sure to use the A&D for the first 2-3 days and wash it twice a day for the first two weeks. After the first 2-3 days then you can put lotion on it enough to keep it moisturized throughout the day.

only use what they give you until its healed.
then its fine to use normal moisturizing lotion.
the tattoo becomes your skin and when your skin is dry you should moisturize it.
