(302) or the aforementioned 9.5″ and can also be had with 4.000″ or 4.125″ siamese bores. The valleys are machined to allow for use of the factory roller lifter guides and retainer plate. As well, they feature scalloped water jacket walls, a priority main oiling system that improves coolant flow around cylinder barrels, extra thick deck heights, blind tapped head bolt holes

as far as I am aware all ford engine ( blocks) will have blind tapped cyl head bolt holes so as to stop water ingression to threads of bolts and hence undue bolt weakening and failure eg. vehicle ranges Fiesta, transit, Kuga, connect, etc engine types in line and vee , eg Lion ( Vee) tiger ( small block ) and so on. head gaskets are also designed to stop any water ( and oil) getting to head bolt threads for same reasons.
