How exactly are Christians being persecuted?

I see so many Christians (some, not all, mind you) in this modern age saying how they are being persecuted against by all of the "atheist, Pagans and homosexuals". Define persecuted, because I am honestly not seeing it.

There are some places where Christians are being actually persecuted - in the Middle East and parts of Africa, for instance, it can be particularly dangerous to be a Christian.

Which, IMO, makes it even more sad that Christians complain about being persecuted in the US. There's a lack of comparison there, as well as a failure to notice that Christianity is still, for the most part, the dominant religion in the US. (Mind you, some of the adherents are only nominally Christian, but they've still got significant numbers in comparison.)

The claims are pretty much the result of them looking their choke-hold over US culture - they held a dominant place that allowed them tremendous say over what happened in the country. Things have changed now so that their religious rules are no longer the rules that everyone else are forced to live by. To them, that's a bit frightening - the same as that sort of shift is frightening to any group that is in power when a power shift comes about. The transfer of power, even if it is merely to level the playing field, is seen by many as an attack.

So, they complain about losing their religious liberty, when, really, it's merely that other people are formally gaining the liberty to not have to abide by Christian morals.

The only persecuted Christians are those in places like Iran. The terms persecuted, Nazi, racist, are thrown around too much in this day and age. Unless someone is killing you based on your faith you really shouldn't use the word persecuted.

    Persecution Complex, Google it.

In the Christian mind, if they do not control it all, they are a minority that is being persecuted. They NEED to be the ONLY religion, not just the majority.

They're not. It's the same as Hitler saying why are my people being persecuted, while he's persecuting the same people Christians are persecuting.

they are whiners. We are not persecuted, but more slandered by modern day society. However Christians in Northern Africa, THAT is persecution.

Not by the above mentioned, but in some cases, their culture is under serious attack. In many parts of Eastern Europe, Muslim extremists are gaining a foothold and are demolishing ancient Orthodox churches.

In the U.S. we do know the type of persecution that goes on in other parts of the world. Here people might get mad and protest at a Chick-Fil-a, in other parts of the world, they kill you.

They believe that everyone's morals should conform to their beliefs while they do nothing to embrace the beliefs of others. So they feel persecuted due to overwhelming hypocrisy.

    Most of them.

I'd limit that to atheists, some of us (not all and not me) are intolerant of pagans and homosexuals and that intolerance is un-christ-like
