How do I keep my veiled chameleon alive until Monday?
I believe my four month old chameleon has MBD. He has a cricket diet, and due to my lack of knowledge about caring for the guy, I haven't been dusting the crickets with calcium. He has a basking lamp and the cage is kept about 80 degrees and he is sprayed with warm water five or six times a day. Since Thursday he's been acting very lethargic. He lays on the ground and doesn't move much, his joints seem to be swollen and he can't grip well. He hasn't eaten since Wednesday, but he is a beautiful green color. He's breathing normally and he is very alert. Monday morning I have an appoint with a reptile specialist, but what do I do until then to keep him comfortable or just alive?

The humid situations required for a chameleon might make a leopard gecko ill. Chameleons require tall tanks to climb. Leopard Gecko's require great floor area as they are no longer probably climbers. Chameleons are from tropical rainforest variety terrains, while leopard gecko's are from very dry center-jap deserts. 2 VERY distinctive environments. do no longer positioned them interior a similar tank. Neither species get on o.k. with their very own species, nevermind eachother! in case you are trying this, you're purely inquiring for issues. Why do you need to bypass them into a similar tank besides?

Id lay him in a box with a lot of paper towels for softness and some soft moss if you got it so he doesn't feel a true need to move put some sort of hide in there if it feels right and keep him humid and offer him food once a day.

Where's your UVB light Clara? Dusting with calcium isn't going to help without a UVB source? He needs a basking light AND a UVB light. Get one ASAP if u don't already. Keep him stress free and quiet - no handling. Stress is a chams biggest enemy.
