Are there any other Australian delicacies other than Vegemite and Tim Tams?

It all depends on what you consider a delicacy; so much of what is on offer in Australia is based on dishes from the many cultures forming part of the Australian cultural landscape of today.

Perhaps the most famous or traditional Australia food would be the Meat Pie and there are some really great pie shops around. The shrimp on the BBQ has also become something of an Aussie icon.

Australia will claim the pavalova although New Zealands dispute this.

You also have emu and kangaroo meat, which is uniqely Australian.

Vegemite and Tim Tams are both American owned

Vegemite is owned by Kraft

Tim Tams is owned by Arnotts

Both are American companies

It saddens me that everytime Australians are buying Vegemite they are actually giving more profits to American companies

I was going to mention something about Fosters and VB, but now Fosters has been taken over by the British.

Victor, I stand to be corrected, but you can't get more Australian than I nice steak and mushroom pie, hot out of the oven, with nice gravy (not dry) and with ketchup. The other one I used to have over there was the potato pie. Used to buy single serve pavlovas, like there was no tomorrow, oops almost forgot the sausage rolls, used to slice them down the middle, and squirt in some ketchup also.

No look what you done, you have made me stuffing hungry.

Balmain bugs, barramundi, kangaroo, pie floaters (in Adelaide), pavlova, lamingtons, custard slices (with passionfruit), chicken parmigiana, ham steak and pineapple, magnum ice creams, passiona.

Mate--Bondi beach babes !! Sink yer molars into them mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm !! luvly -and beat the Colonel for finger lickin good !!

Magnum ice cream. Cant go past that.

VB or New, whatever-- but yer gotta wash it all down with sumthink and either of them will do the job.

And bugger that lot across the Ditch. Pavlova after a good roast beef dinna --just DONT put any of that KIWI fruit on it ! Strawbrees will do.Bewdy.
