Do only Americans deserve to be blessed by God?

How can we have faith in a God who (loves us so much) allows a mother in a third world country to have her child die in her arms? Or a young boy drop dead while carrying buckets of water back to his emaciated family? So we can say we are so blessed, but seems only the developed countries are the ones who deserve the blessings of God.

Update:

God sent Moses to deliver the israelites from Pharoah...hm.

Which god--Zeus? He likes Greece better. Krishna? NO...he likes India. Yahweh and Jesus, nope--they are the gods of their CHOSEN LAND--Israel/Palestine. I don't think they give a cr** about the US.

And you know who doesn't give a cr** about the starving children??--the capitalist Christians in the US who stuff themselves to obesity--while ignoring the starving.

Your thinking about this the wrong way, God loves everyone equally, nobody is more precious to God than anybody else, it is mans wrongdoing of why this happens, it is no doing of God. It is the doing of Satan. Everything bad happens because of Satan, its a war between him and Jesus for the souls of the world and he will do whatever it takes to get people to turn away from the glory of the Son. And the worst part is that it works. The promise of God's love is not that he will not allow bad things to happen, but that he will be there to help us when it does. People think that because God is a loving God that he should not allow bad things to happen and thats the wrong way of thinking. If I'm walking with my daughter and she falls and scraps her knee and starts crying, it wasn't because I forced it to happen, but in a fathers endless love I will pick her up and carry her home, and thats precisely what God does for us.

(Romans 2:11) 11 For there is no partiality with God.

(Acts 10:34, 35) 34 At this Peter opened his mouth and said: “For a certainty I perceive that God is not partial, 35 but in every nation the man that fears him and works righteousness is acceptable to him.

(1 Samuel 16:6, 7) . . .” 7 But Jehovah said to Samuel: “Do not look at his appearance and at the height of his stature, for I have rejected him. For not the way man sees [is the way God sees], because mere man sees what appears to the eyes; but as for Jehovah, he sees what the heart is.”

ANd God's promise for the future:

(Isaiah 2:1-4)...And it must occur in the final part of the days [that] the mountain of the house of Jehovah will become firmly established above the top of the mountains, and it will certainly be lifted up above the hills; and to it all the nations must stream. 3 And many peoples will certainly go and say: “Come, YOU people, and let us go up... and he will instruct us about his ways, and we will walk in his paths.”... 4 And he will certainly render judgment among the nations and set matters straight respecting many peoples. And they will have to beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning shears. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, neither will they learn war anymore.

Soon God will bring justice (one of his 4 main qualities) for humans earth-wide. And this promise co-incides with the promise of no more death, no more pain, no more tears. (Rev 21:3,4)

    No.

As for as the very sad things you list, God is not blind to them. It is not time yet for him to step in and bring an end to this unjust, corrupt world. Would you care to learn why he has allowed the suffering to continue? Feel free to write me at qnaqueen33@yahoo.com

@Lara: Yes, the Israelites were rescued from Egyptian slavery. That is because at that time they were his Chosen people.... BUT, by means of them ALL nations would be blessed. That was the Abrahamic Covenant.

It's a tragic and intractable problem. If we could stop spending our energies on the dead-end answer of religion, we could have a global inquiry into inventing a workable future for ourselves as a species.

I am a stand for that, and it isn't ok with me that third world mothers lose children to starvation and disease. It hurts my heart.

Yes, God did send a deliverer for the Israelites. He has already done the same for all those who faithfully follow him. He has done this not just for the Americans, but for people all over the world. America does seem to those on the outside to be blessed, but it has its share of problems. The streets of the inner city are filled with homeless men, women and children. There are those who are starving and jobless. There is discrimination; bitterness; jealousy; increasingly high crime rates; over-crowding in prisons and jails; tax breaks for the rich and increasingly high taxes for the poor and middle class; and the list goes on. But these issues are all over the world because we are all living in the "critical times" hard to deal with spoken of at 2 Timothy 3:1-5. In fact read these verses and see for yourself how these things apply: "But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, betrayers, headstrong, puffed up [with pride], lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, having a form of godly devotion but proving false to its power; and from these turn away."

Proverbs 29:2 says in part, "when anyone wicked bears rule, the people sigh." Despite the good intentions of the rulers today, this wicked system continues to be unjust.

(2 Peter 3:9) Jehovah is not slow respecting his promise, as some people consider slowness, but he is patient with YOU because he does not desire any to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance.

Even though it doesn't seem as though Jehovah God cares, he cares deeply and has already made provisions for all his faithful servants all over the world.

    (Daniel 2:44) “And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be brought to ruin. And the kingdom itself will not be passed on to any other people. It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite;

God has given the responsibility of caring for have-nots to the haves. If people are dying in third world countries from starvation and illness while we sit on our velvet cushions watching television, it's not God that I have the issue with.

The good news of Jehovah's kingdom is directed primarily towards the poor and opressed both spiritually and literally.

Luke 4:18 The Spirit of Jehovah is upon me,

for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor.

He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released,

    that the blind will see,

that the oppressed will be set free,

    It is so...

    ...because there is no god

And humans are too busy (especially Americans) looking after themselves and hating every one else, to hear the voices of the poor and ill. Just look at the behaviour the Yanks have to their own poor, one would thing that poverty was a 'sin'. Is it no wonder that the USA has some of the highest crime in the world.
