Is it illegal to be barefoot outside the security point in airports?

I plan to participate in the April 10th go without shoes for a day to raise awareness to those who don't own shoes. Go to www.onedaywithoutshoes.com for more information. Anyways, I have a flight on the tenth, so I was wondering if it's illegal to not wear shoes after the security check point in the airport.

It's almost never actually _illegal_ for anyone to go barefoot anywhere. Legislators just don't waste their time on anything so petty and stupid. You might sometimes run into someone trying to tell you about "policies" or "regulations". Sometimes these might be real, in the sense of actually coming down from administrators, but more often than not they're simply invented on the spot by some selfimportant jerk who either has some kind of weird "problem" about other people's feet, or just thinks it's fun to try to tell other people what to do or what to wear. You might want to keep a pair of thin sandals or folding slippers in you bag just in case. Most of the time, though, nobody will bother you at all about your bare feet. Enjoy your flight.

Shouldn't normally be. For details, read the regulations of your airport and your airline on their website.

(There's no logical reason why shoes should be required, but regulations don't always follow logic.)

Here's a hint: Don't be so conforming. Don't go barefoot just because the calendar or some company tells you - go barefoot whenever it's fun for you!

Many airlines require footwear on passengers, but I believe you'll be fine going barefoot until the time you board the plane. At that point, you may encounter an issue, but even then, it's possible you won't be confronted.

o.O? I don't think you'll get an answer here. It's best to just go and ask the people at the airport
