URGENTT!! Jailbreak iPhone for Region block?

Well in Australia the iPhone 4 is $999 , here in Hawaii its $199 !!!! BUTT it costs and extra $450 to unlock it because its region blocked :(, can I do any of these?

1. Use my sisters compute and jailbreak it? will that work in Aus?

2. Bring it back to Australia and hope someone can unlock it?

3. what can i do? will JB it un region block it? and if i do that when i sync it to my own laptop will it lock up again?

PLEASEE I NEED TO KNOW BEFORE 2MORO, I cannot aford for this not to work i leave hawaii in 2 days so theres no returning it if it dnt work!!

Ebay is full price and i cannot afford that
