Is it possible to block a website from your computer?

Every time I am on Facebook, using any of the game features, I only have to blink, and my browsers is switched to one of the ad sites... Can I block out this site so that it does not do that.. is the technology out there?

    I belive some browser have this option, but you could always try editing the hosts file (google where is the host file "operating system") and redirect all the hits to the domain name to a different IP address (I would suggest 127.0.0.1)

    FIRST GET FIREFOX AND ADBLOCK PLUS!!!!!

    OR

    //////////////////////////

    Like a geek!

    Ping the website in your CMD.exe

    copy the ip address

    Add a line to hosts file like this:

    "127.0.0.1 X.X.X.X"

    or change 127.0.0.1 to facebooks ip so it just redirects you back to face book

    or the lame way
