If you're practicing a piece, don't always start at the beginning. If you do, you'll soon find that the beginning is great and the middle or ending is not up to par.

Never give up. Feel free to stop for a while when your practicing if you get frustrated, but never say that you're done for good.

If you know someone else who plays the same instrument, ask them for help. You could also sign up for private lessons, which I strongly recommend. You will improve so much faster!

Identify and work on your areas of weakness. If there's a pattern of notes you have issues with, play it over and over again until you get it. Start slowly, the gradually speed up until you can play it about as fast as you want to go. Then, slow back down again and build up speed. Do this everyday.

Warm up with scales. They allow you to really get the feel for each note and where it is in relation to the note before it.

Don't be afraid to ask for help.

Push yourself. You will never know what you are capable of until you try.

Like I said before, never never never give up. Keep trying until you achieve your goal! There's always room for improvement:)
