What is the future for teachers in Canada?

I am a grade 12 student in Ontario, and I wish to become a teacher in Canada (Ontario). Will there be a high demand? Can I find a job? I am willing to teach Gym and Business (high school).

Hate to break it to you but there are a surplus of teachers who cannot find jobs right now. There will most likely never be a high demand for teachers especially in Gym and Business (common fields for many teachers). However, there is currently a demand for teachers in Math, Science, and French. Perhaps consider combining either Gym or Business with one of those subjects. Or you can hightail it out of Ontario and go to Asia to teach English - another in-demand topic. If you still want to stick with Gym/Business, expect to begin as a supply teacher or a part-timer. Also, you should consider specializing in Accounting (Business) so that you can find another job (in case).

    Hope that helps.
