ROWING- Fat cox slow down my boat at nationals?

I am competing at CSSRA 2011 in a couple of days and the top eight is stuck with some lazy fat-*** cox who refused to do any work all year to try and lose weight because he doesnt have to pull the boat and he's just an asshole. So He is coxng my top eight and my top four, he is 140 pounds and the minimum weight for a cox is 100 pounds, one of the rowers in my boat is lighter than him. all of out WEIGHT ADJUSTED erg times are between 6:07 and 6:25. we have a shot at winning nationals, but how much is the extra 40 pounds that my fat cox decided to put on going to slow down my boats time?

Well it looks to me like you have two choices. Either convince yourself now that you're going to lose and it's all the fault of an overweight cox, or decide that you and your crew are so strong that you can win no matter what, extra weight and all. Hopefully you've talked to the cox about losing some weight, but the main thing you need to do right now is work on a positive attitude that you're going to win no matter what.

    Good luck at nationals...
