Can someone born in Canada, but taken back to England as a child, come back to Canada?

I have a friend who was born here in Canada, but taken back to the United Kingdom as a child and has lived there for forty years since.

She wants to know how she can move back here, and if there are services to help her get work or housing (as there is for other immigrants), and who should she contact.

Thank you.

Go to www.servicecanada.gc.ca for questions regarding work or housing - there are several govt. services which can help with finding work, however, housing might be a different issue because I've heard that there is a long waiting list for social assistance with housing.

Also go to www.cic.gc.ca for questions regarding citizenship or she could just go to a Canadian embassy in the UK and ask them what her status is.

She could present documents that prove she was born in canada and that could help her convice the immigration court to give her citizenship.

It depends on whether her family gained UK citizenship for her. If she was born in Canada she is a Canadian citizen. If her parents never changed it, then she will still retain her Canadian citizenship.
