What is the average cost of a new windshield wiper motor?

My windshield wipers had stopped working midway. I took it to an auto repair shop, and they said that I need to replace the motor but that they only do basic maintenance. I'm taking my car to another repair shop, and I don't want to get ripped off. I was wondering about the average cost. Thanks so much!

    just call your local friendly auto parts store and ask...or drop in on them, or you can look it up online--most of the major US chains have a website.

    $50-$1000. Depends on the car which you did not identify at all.
