Why are sinks set down so low?
I have just finished cleaning my bathroom and kitchen sinks and once again my lower back is screaming with pain. Why are sinks set at a height that makes the average adult have to bend over, even just a little bit, to clean the sink or wash dishes in the sink. After 20 minutes of that slight bending my back is in agony. Why can't sinks be placed so that adults can stand up straight and reach the bottom of a sink full of water without bending over?
Thanks Jim. I didn't realize they could be set higher. A building store told me that plumbing regulations require certain heights for sinks, etc.

Bathroom sinks are generally lower than kitchen sinks because of children. If your kitchen sinks and bathroom sinks are the same height, the original builder was shorter people, and ordered bathroom lower cabinets for their convenience. I redid my house bathroom and kitchen and raised all the sinks 2" higher, just for the reason you complained.
