Shawshank Redemption; Andy and Red casting?
Was reading a few others were considered for the role of Red and Andy in The Shawshank Redemption. It turned out perfectly with Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman. Of the following, which actors could have pulled off the roles.

Tom Cruise
Charlie Sheen
Nicolas Cage
Kevin Costner
Tom Hanks
As Red
Clint Eastwood
Harrison Ford
Paul Newman

For Andy only Costner seems like it would've worked. And for Red only Eastwood would have been as good as Freeman.

I think my only choice could be Kevin Costner. I refuse to watch Tom Cruise because he's a Richard Cranium (if you don't know this insult, what is a nickname for Richard? And what is another word for cranium?). Charlie Sheen I see only as his Charlie persona drugs and chicks basically... I quite like Tom Hanks but seems better in lighter weighted roles, the rom-coms or even light dramas like Apollo 13 (Shawshank is heavier if that makes sense) and Nicholas Cage fits in other roles (he was good in some of the actiony type films eg National Treasure, or in the off beat)
As Red?
I could see Clint, Paul or Robert in the role. Harrison Ford, I see as either action or these days the star they drag out for the 45+ women to go ga ga over....
