I say, in the short term not, no he wont. Flames are 4pts back with 30 plus games to go, they could very easily get to the playoffs, no sense in trading their best player right now. Now, if/when the flames are offically toast, I have a feeling the whole team will be blown sky high. Iginla will likely be asked if he wants to waive his NTC. At 33, he's still got 2-3 more good to great years left in him, he could help a team win a cup. Rebuilds take 3-5 years if done right, so that would put Iggy at 36-38 years old by the time the flames are ready to contend again, I'm not sure if he'll want to roll around in loserhood until he's grey in the beard.

< look at the picture, its the best
anyways, they have a chance to make the playoffs so he won't be traded this year, It is possible for him to be traded in the offseason but if Feester was smart they would not because Iginla can be traded for about anyone so personally I think they should wait until the 2011-2012 season trade deadline (or maybe if they completely drop the ball after the all star break) to see. Honestley it won't work IMO the best captain in NHL no active player has better leadership and Iginla holds that team together. I think they will trade him unless Calgary becomes a playoff team (which they are capable of doing) but it will be a mistake and they will drop right to the bottom, Take it from a big flmes and big Iggy fan

it particularly is probable purely a rumor. i'm confident the Sens want that yet I doubt The Flames are keen to resign Iggy. Jarome is an explosive participant and the extra helpful participant popular. Alfredsson is in a stoop yet he gets out of it particularly is going to quite. did no longer Sens GM make it sparkling that they weren't going to commerce Alfredsson? it may no longer additionally be a sturdy deal for the Sens via fact Iginla value extra suitable than Alfredsson.

I say its unlikely, he is the face of the franchise and he is what sells tickets for the team. It doesn't make sense from a financial sense.
